Keira Knightley

Knightley was born in London she was born in London, the youngest daughter of Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. She was first spotted by an agent at the age of six years old. She began her career in commercials and TV. Her role was minor in the role of Sabe in the space opera Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). After making international headlines for her role in the fantasy television series Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 in the role of Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) She was then able to debut as a character in the sports movie Bend It Like Beckham in where she played a tomboy. Knightley was labeled an exciting young star following her appearing in Love Actually (2003). Knightley received her first Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the historical romance Pride & Prejudice. Apart from Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, she also played as Georgiana Cavendish, the tastemaker in The Duchess and Anna Karenina's character in the title socialite. Her work also included contemporary dramatics. Begin Again, (2013) played her as an aspirant singer, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her as a medical school student. Knightley made a return to the world of historical film as Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014) which earned her a nomination to The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress she also acted as the writer named after her in Colette (2018).
